Sonoran Desert Toad- Bufo alvarius- L= 4 - 7 1/2 inches (10.1 - 19 cm) or more! Also known as the Colorado River Toad and is one of the largest toads indigenous to North America. The Sonoran Desert toad eats just about anything that moves and will fit into their mouths, including centipedes, insects, lizards, mice, spiders, and other amphibians. Interesting Fact: Males grow darkened, thick calluses on the inside of the thumbs of the forelimbs during the breeding season.
